LOVERBOY MAGAZINE - ‘‘I’ve always wanted to refer to myself in the third person.’

Across his first full-length release, George sings stories of seductive summer nights, jealous ex-lovers and his own past mistakes. Opening with the lyrics, ‘I love me’, the twelve tracks read like entries straight out of George’s diary. Loverboy may be biased but we’re kind of obsessed. Let’s talk about the mornings we have woken up singing, ‘You’re talking of love but you’re lying instead. You’re still lying in his bed!’ or the times we’ve screamed, ‘All I wanted was the chance to be bad’ on the treadmill. George worked with producer Ian Romer on the album, the pair conjure up moments of 80s Post-Punk, Rock, Punk and why yes, that is a side-serving of Ska.

MAGNET MAGAZINE - ‘EXCLUSIVE KING IN TOWN’

Producer Ian Romer walked into George Alley’s Philadelphia apartment one day and found him sitting at his baby grand piano. “I asked him to quickly record what I was playing and singing before I forgot it,” says Alley. “The lyrics weren’t fully finished, but I knew if we didn’t capture it right then, it would be hard to get back to that moment.”

STARRYMAG - ‘George Alley Shares “Letgo” Single + Video’

‘’Letgo’ was a song I had written and forgotten about. Ian was instrumental on us recording it as he took it out of the Dropbox and started playing an acoustic guitar along with my synth tracks and vocal melody. Suddenly it felt like a sunset at a festival type song. I found the 1990’s Casio I’m playing in the trash. With the effect pedals we plugged it into, it sounds like a UFO. Letgo is about my absolute fear of change in love, career whatever; When you feel like you don’t make good decisions sometimes you just don’t make any at all.”

George Alley: “Letgo”

His music is entertaining, and his videos use so many avenues to tell stories. His newest video captures the essence of ’80s synthpop, and the music to this song I would say was early ’60s radio pop, with Barry Manilow-style vocals. Campy sci-fi flicks are the fare for this video. His album is now out BTW.

NenesButler- ‘Dive into the Heart of Human Connections with George Alley's Captivating Track 'XRAY'!’

This Thursday, we will embark on a deep exploration of the hidden layers of human relationships. George Alley, with his newly released album ‘George Alley,’ leads the programme, featuring the song ‘XRAY’.‘XRAY’ epitomises the quest for clarity and true intimacy in our relationships, looking beyond facades to uncover what truly matters. The song captures the poignant moment when you realise that someone sees you in your entirety, recognising the unseen truths beneath the surface. This musical journey that George Alley takes us on is reminiscent of the glory days of Erasure, known not only for their outstanding synth-pop songs but also for embodying the emotions behind them, particularly through Andy Bell. George masterfully unveils these emotions, exposing the hidden, cutting through the everyday noise to find and musically process the essential.

NenesButler - ‘Fake Sick!’ by George Alley’

George Alley wears many hats: from being a professor to serving as a curator, he’s involved in everything related to art. A prolific music contributor for UK’s Loverboy Magazine, where he interviews notable musicians, he is also a podcaster for the top-ten iTunes comedy show “I’m Going to Kill You!” and the pandemic-themed cast “Queerona.” And, most importantly (for us), he’s a composer and performer. We’ve introduced this versatile artist from Philadelphia before, and we remember tracks like ‘Doctor Doctor’ and ‘Just Leave Me Dreaming.’ Now, he’s making a comeback. The mood is much brighter and more colorful. Musically, he blends great indie pop/rock sounds with psychedelic punk, resulting in George Alley’s "Prince Charming Pop-Punk". It’s like a soft mix of Bon Jovi meets Katrina and the Waves. Inspired by Oscar Wilde’s thought that ‘to love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance,’ George Alley infuses his music with guitar riffs that capture the energy and rebellious spirit of self-love. Authentically executed, the DIY ethos captures the intoxication of the present, embracing the spontaneity of the moment. This spirit is vividly portrayed in ‘Fake Sick!,’ the latest single by George Alley.

Vents Magazine - George Alley Shares New Single “Fake Sick

Talking about his music, George Alley says “Oscar Wilde said, “To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance.” I also always wanted to write a song with a “plagal cadence” which doesn’t rely on the normal chord progressions in a key. One of the most famous examples of this is “Hey Joe” by Jimi Hendrix.”.

Vents Magazine - George Alley Shares Two New Singles + Videos “Summer Trophies” + “Choice To Be Bad”

Talking about “Summer Trophies“, George Alley says, “Summer Trophies was one of the first two songs I released ten years ago. When it was first released, it paid for my trip to California and my Lumix camera I still use. I wanted an end of summer song. My own “Boys of Summer” and used that end of summer nostalgia metaphor for life in a larger lens. I had performed this song live a few times with violinist Russel Kotcher and Cellist Eric Coyne. It inspired this new version which was one of the first things Ian Romer and I recorded. We started from scratch changing the tempo and Ian recorded an amazing acoustic guitar solo.”

Vents Magazine -George Alley shares his latest single “XRAY”.

Today, George Alley shares his latest single “XRAY”. This single follows his newly released debut LP George Alley

George Alley on the track, “‘XRAY’ is a deep dive into the unseen layers of our connections. It’s about the clarity we seek in relationships—the ability to see through facades and get to the heart of what truly matters. The song captures that moment when you realize someone sees you for who you really are, like an X-ray revealing the hidden truths beneath the surface. Growing up, I was fascinated by cartoons that used gamma rays, X-rays, and other futuristic technologies to uncover the truth or to stun a victim. That sense of revealing what’s hidden, of cutting through the noise to find the core, is exactly what I wanted to bring into this track. When I was thinking of those cartoons I also thought of pop artists like Warhol and Lichtenstein and so director Adam Peditto tried to harness that with the video.”

DIGITAL JOURNAL - George Alley talks about his new single and video for ‘XRAY’

Singer-songwriter George Alley chatted about his new single and music video for “XRAY.”

How did the “XRAY” single come about?

“XRAY” is a special song for me. Not only is it the newest song on the album—it was mastered just a few weeks before the vinyl was pressed.

Lyrically, it was born from a wild night I had in a pool after leaving a gay club in Cleveland, just before leaving for college. It recalls a specific person I met during a scavenger hunt game.
